Group Therapy

Therapeutic Gaming

Our providers are at the forefront of using tabletop games, such as Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) as a group therapy intervention. Our providers use games as way to help their clients connect with one another, learn cooperative skills, creative problem solving, social scripts, assertiveness skills and more. Additionally applied gaming gives clients a fun and low risk setting in which they can practice the skills they are learning both in individual and group therapy.

Gender Groups

This group will consist of two alternating parts. One segment will convene bi-weekly for individuals who identify as trans, nonbinary, or are in the process of exploring their gender identity. The second segment will meet on the alternate weeks and will be dedicated to parents, guardians, or significant others seeking a deeper understanding of gender-related topics and an opportunity to connect with others for support.

This group was designed to create a safe environment for young men to connect with each other as they speak openly about navigating the difficulties of “adulting” and working toward and/or adjusting to a more independent living situation. Topics that come up might include managing school and/or work distress, considering future career options, fostering healthier relationships (whether romantic, friendly, or familial), getting motivated, or perhaps discussing one’s struggle with drug or alcohol abuse.
