Frequently Asked Questions.

How do I schedule an appointment?

For new clients you can either call our office at 704-702-2400 option 1 between 8 and 5 eastern time, or send an email to appointment@HQPsych.com. For returning clients you can do the above or request an appointment through the client portal.

Do I need a referral?

No referrals needed!

How do I know if your provider will be a good fit for me?

We offer free 15-minute meet and greet appointments to perspective clients as a way for you to get to meet your provider and get to know them before you start therapy. Even if after a session or two things do not work out you can always request to change to a new provider!

Do you offer prescription services?

Yes! Melanie Fossinger is able to provide medication management for those age 13 and up!

Do you offer crisis intervention?

We do not have crisis intervention. If you are in need of immediate psychological services you can call 988 for emergency mental health care.

Can I choose my therapist?

Yes! Our intake coordinator might recommend one therapist over another but if you want to work with someone and they are accepting new clients you likely can work with them! Review our provider profiles here

What are your clinic hours?

We are open between 8 and 5pm eastern Monday through Thursday and 8am to 12pm Friday. Some of our providers might offer sessions outside of those hours.

What is therapy like ?

Your first session will be an intake interview, this is where your provider will be learning about you, your history, and what is brining you into therapy. This session typically lasts between 45 and 60 minuets. Follow up sessions are typically around 45 minuets and will vary depending on the style of therapy, provider, and your goals for therapy.

What is your cancellation policy?

We do not double book our time and if you cannot make it to a session we ask that you let your provider know as soon as possible. If you cancel with more than 24 hours notice there is no fee. If you cancel less than 24 hours or do not come to an appointment, outside of certain exceptions, you will be subject to the late cancel/no show fee.

Do you accept insurance?

HealthQuest is an out of network office for all insurance. We can provide our clients with a super bill so they can be reimbursed by their insurance (if applicable).

What states are you able to see clients in?

Our office is in Charlotte North Carolina. We have providers who are able to offer services to those living in over 30 states thanks to the PsyPact. For the most up to date list of PsyPact states click here.
